Art Journal with Dew Drops

Hello Crafty Friends,
Marie-Christine with you today with a page in my Diary Journal, very easy and very quick to do!
I used mini and original pink Dew Drops on it.
How to do
First, this is the original background before I added Distress Inks, I chose 2 green colors.
Then, I used a floral stencil from TCW with purple Distress Inks on the background.
I found a vintage image on Pinterest, I adhered it on the right, and I colored the leaves on the top with markers. I printed my title on a white paper and stuck my mini and original pink Dew drops.
That’s all, very easy and quick page, do you love it?

1. Remove the backboard and glass from the frame. Center the design and mark lightly with a pencil. Trim the canvas to fit your frame.

2. Use a brown permanent marker to highlight the texture of the tree bark. Sketch vertical lines in irregular strokes with different amounts of density. Apply a coat of clear gesso over the entire canvas and set aside to dry.

3. When thoroughly dry, apply clear crackle medium over specific areas of the canvas.

5. Next, spray gold mist over the dried crackle areas. Use a paintbrush to spread the mist. It may be necessary to use a wet brush so that the mist will move easily and sink into the cracks to accentuate them.

(Notice the difference adding the mist makes to the visibility of the crackles.
The lower right corner does not have any mist applied yet.)

5. Splatter gold mist over the canvas. Remove the nozzle to flick larger droplets.

6. Finally, use liquid adhesive to adhere Tear Drops to create the fall foliage.

7. Fill in the smaller areas with round Dew Drops. To finish the scene, attach a piece of green fuzzy trim along the lower edge of the canvas to create a horizon. When thoroughly dry, assemble your finished canvas back into the frame and secure the backboard.

Shabby Chic Seaside Christmas Ornament with Dew Drops

Shabby Chic Seaside Christmas Ornament With Dew Drops

Wooden Wheel and Anchor Ornaments
Found Clam Shell
Bakers Twine – blue
Tim Holtz Christmas Sentiment
White Tim Holtz Distress Crayon
Spa Blue Paint
White Paint
Elmers Glue
Prima Wax in Royal Robes
Dew Drops – Mini pink and Clear diamonds
1.  Prepare the Charm by coloring over the writing with the white distress crayon and wiping the surface to make the sentiment stand out.
2.  Prepare the wooden ornaments by painting the base blue color.  And let dry.
3.  To form the “crackle on the anchor, coat the dry anchor with a light layer of Elmers glue.  Let dry to tacky to touch and then lightly paint over the not yet dried glue with white paint.  As the glue dries and the paint dries, crackles will form.
4.  Rub the wooden wheel and anchor with Art Alchmy Opal Magic Royal Robes wax (smells fabulous)!
5.  Glue the anchor and the wheel together.  Embellish the anchor and the shell with Dew Drops.  I used liquid adhesive and pink mini dew drops and clear diamond dew drops.
6.  Finally adhere the sentiment to the decoration and add the twine bow.  When everything is dry loop twine through the top hole of the anchor for an ornament or add to a wreath or package.  It is a super cute shabby accent!
Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the festive season with Dew Drops!
See you next time!

Cherry Dew Drops

Cherry Cola Pop Fizz Cards

Hello Ladies,
Karen here and this is a bit of a change from my regular style. (It’s a bit messy!)  My first idea was to create bubbles of fizzing cola. Using two different sizes of Dew Drops in three colors really added lovely dimension and a sense of movement. Then I realized how to create a cute bunch of cherries with Dew Drops and knew this was the perfect opportunity to create cherry cola. (if you happen to have a sentiment stamp that says, “Life is a bowl of cherries” I think Dew Drops would create perfect cherries to embellish it.)

Forest Brown Mini Dew Drops

Winter Retreat Dew Drops

River Bed Tear Drops

1.  Spray brown mist onto watercolor paper. Unscrew the top of the bottle and use the nozzle to flick or drip a variety of larger specks.

2.  Stamp a sentiment and heat emboss with black embossing powder.

3. Use brown ink to stamp concentric rings. Next, apply a strip with the embossed sentiment to the right side of the card.

4.  Use red ink to stamp cans of soda. Carefully, cut the cans out and add subtle shading details with colored pencils.

TIP -To create added dimension:
Apply grey shading along the outside edges of the sides of the can.
To accentuate the cylinder shape, the shading should be darkest on the edges and gradually get lighter. The can should remain whitest in the middle.
(Left can- no shading, middle can- top & bottom shaded, right can- edges shaded)

5. Attach the can of tipped soda to the bottom of the card with foam tape and add a grey shadow under the can.

6. Use various shades of brown Dew Drops to create the fizzy soda bubbles.

More Inspiration..

Alternatively, create a cluster of cherries by drawing a stem with a black marker.
Then adhere a red Dew Drop to create the fruit and green Tear Drops to create the leaves.
