How to Elegantly Embellish Die Cuts Simply and Easily

Hello Girls,
Karen here…to share a super quick card by embellishing a die cut with Dew Drops.  This floral card is suitable for many occasions depending on the sentiment you add.  You could produce an assembly line of this basic design and just vary the background paper and colors.  A set of these would make a lovely gift for a friend.  Don’t forget to share your projects with us on the The Crafty Nest Facebook Page.

1. Die cut a floral design onto white pearl card stock.

2.  Apply glue to the delicate parts of the design.  Adhere the die cut to blue ombre paper. Trim the excess overhanging ombre paper. Attach the matted floral design onto a teal card base. (TIP: I did not apply glue to some of the leaves in order to bend them slightly for added dimension.)

3.  Carefully apply small dots of glue onto each bud.  It is best to only apply glue to 4-5 buds at a time because the glue may dry before you attach the gems.

4.  Next, place each gem onto a dot of glue. I used various sizes of gems, as well as, different shades of blue to create depth and add interest.  Repeat the process until you are satisfied you have embellished enough areas of the design.  Set aside to dry.

Other Supplies:

  • floral background metal die
  • die cutting machine
  • white pearl card stock
  • ombre blue paper
  • teal card base
  • liquid adhesive

How to Make a Quick Shamrock Card

Hi Gals, it’s Karen here today. If you need the luck of the Irish, then follow along and I will show you how to make the cutest little shamrocks. I made a card with them but once you see how simple it is, then you can embellish anything for St. Patrick’s Day. All you need are green Tear Drops!

1.  Cut a piece of pattern paper 1.5×5″

2.  Create 3 shamrocks with green tear drops.  To form a shamrock, first draw the stem with a green marker.  Then adhere 3 green tear drops to form the leaves.  Attach 3 shamrocks in a row on the patterned paper and set aside to dry.

3. Use a dotty embossing folder to add texture to the lower half of a green card base. Adhere the paper with shamrocks to the top section of the card.

4.  Use liquid glue to adhere round green Dew Drops to the center of small flowers.

5.  Attach a row of flowers along the top and lower edge of the rectangle.

Other Supplies:

  • dotty embossing folder
  • small flowers
  • green marker
  • patterned paper
  • green card base
  • liquid adhesive
