Hello and welcome to the blog.  Shelly with you today sharing another of my recipe layouts for my cookbook scrapbook of family faves.

Gather:

  • Original Dew Drops
  • Mini Dew Drops
  • Photo Play “We are Family” Paper Collection with Die Cuts and Cardstock Stickers
  • American Craft Thickers Alpha Stickers
  • Chunky Acrylic Confetti – Color Cast Designs
  • Best Glue Ever
  • Optional:  Machine Stitching

Make it:

  • My base measures 8 x 8
  • White Cardstock is trimmed just 1/2″ smaller

My favorite way to use Dew Drops on my scrapbook layouts is tone on tone for subtle dimension

Dew Drops play well with other tiny embellishments when making embellie clusters!

Cropping in the Time of Covid-19 (a scrapbook layout)

Hello and welcome – Shelly with you today sharing a scrapbook layout that is the first of several I will  be creating to document my experiences during the Covid-19 Pandemic.

I decided to create this layout about the last crop I attended before we were hit with lockdowns, shut downs and mandatory mask wearing – we were doing the “6 ft social distancing” but we were blissfully unaware of what was to happen the following week!  So I kept the tone of this layout bright and happy.

Supply List:

Original Dew Drops
Mini Dew Drops
Tear Drops
Diamond Dew Drops
Sequins
PhotoPlay Paper “You had me at Paper” collection
ScraPerfect Best Glue Ever
Tattered Angels Mists

Lots of layering, die cuts and stickers

I often decide after a layout is all glued down that I need some drips and sprays – so I just use a piece of scrap paper to mask off where I do not want the paint to hit

Now kick this layout up a notch with Dew Drops!

I like to dump out the Dew Drops and spread them around until it looks pleasing to my eye….

Mix in a few sequins, too

How to Use Dew Drops in 3 New Ways of Scrapbook Layouts

Hello and welcome to the blog – hope you are faring well during the current world madness and using lock down and quarantine time to relax and feed your creative soul!

Shelly with you today sharing a scrapbook layout with 3 different techniques using Dew Drops.  This layout features our newest family member – Sugar, but who really goes by Tiny Cat and more recently Puddle ( because she is getting a little pudgy and when she lays down, she turns into a puddle) and isn’t she a beauty!

Technique #1 FLOWER CENTERS:

This is a no-brainer!  Dew Drop Originals and Minis make PERFECT flower centers for ANY medium!

Use one or multiple – same color or contrasting color – it is a nice sparkly, dimensional touch to any flower embellishment.

For this layout, I created layered flowers using stamps and dies from Heartfelt Creations and used green mini dew drops for my flower centers.

Technique #2 TONE ON TONE Dimension:

I love popping a Drew Drop of the same color onto parts of my layout for some added “oomph!” and  a little extra surprise.  Black Dew Drops on a black background is a great, subtle design choice – check out my black stripes!

Technique #3 SPOT LIGHT  Color from your photo

There is no denying the single, striking feature of my photo is my cat’s different colored eyes – that one crazy blue eye!  I have not used any blue in this layout – instead, I have popped some blue Dew Drops in strategic places on the layout to make you really notice that blue eye!

Machine stitching is another favorite technique to add texture to a layout

How to Make Easy Mosaic Magic with Dew Drops Creative Canvas

Hello and welcome to the blog. Shelly with you today sharing some mosaic magic with the “Artsy Rose” Creative Dew Drop Canvas.

I have become completely enamored of the Creative Canvas kits from the Robins’s Nest – – there are so many ways to use them and the process is relaxing, creative bliss!

There are so many different looks that can be achieved – my project definitely has a mosaic vibe – and it was as easy as doing a paint-by-number!

Kits come with a pre-printed canvas, a supply of Dew Drops and an inspiration pic!

There are many ways to apply Dew Drops, just dot some glue on your canvas and add the Dew Drop!

My go-to for applying a LOT of Dew Drops is Embellie Gellie from ScraPerfect – gently pick up and place Dew Drops – so easy and fast!

Designer Tip #1:  Use a Fine Tip Sharpie to outline the canvas design – helps anchor and define your piece

Designer Tip #2:  Use ALL of the different shapes and sizes to give your piece dimension and texture – experiment!

I did add some ink and paint to the canvas…
But I am still undecided how this piece will end up… I have 2 ideas:
-Fussy cut rose, add to a mixed media canvas with quote from Beauty and the Beast (Beauty is Found Within or Until the Last Petal Falls)
-Fussy cut rose and add to a card for Mother’s day – I think this would make a SPECTACULAR card!
So if you have read this far, I am going to let YOU decide how I should use this rose!  Leave a comment…..
Choose 1 of my 2 options – – or tell me how YOU would use it!  Someone will receive a Dew Drop RAK direct from my stash!!

How to Create Beautiful & Fun Art with the New “Creative Dew Drop Canvas”

Hello and welcome to the blog.  Shelly with you today sharing a project from The Robin’s Nest hot new product line – Creative Dew Drop Canvas!

What is the Creative Dew Drop Canvas?  A whole new re-imagining of my favorite craft embellishment!

“Creative Dew Drop Canvas.  Includes a pre-printed canvas, Dew Drops, and a color picture of  how  you could create your masterpiece.  Mount to a frame or glue to a hard surface.  A great mixed media treasure.  Available in small (5” x 7”), medium (12” x 12”), large (18” x 24”), and extra-large (24” x 36”)”

I am using the Artsy Bee Love canvas kit today.

Let’s get started!

Gather:

Artsy Bee Love Creative Dew Drop Canvas Kit
Sharpie Fine Point Markers
Ink
Acrylic Paint
Optional:  Mini Cup Cake paper liners to hold Dew Drops & Paint
Optional:  Sewing Machine

Make:

  • Trace over printed design with fine tip Sharpie
  • Highlight design with ink or paints

  • Use inks, sprays and machine stitching on canvas

Now it’s time to start to embellish with Dew Drops – as little or as many as YOU want

Deigner Tip:  Pour Dew Drops into mini cup cake liners while in use – easy access, and then easy to pour unused drops back into bottle!

Embellie Gellie from ScraPerfect makes Dew Drop placement a cinch!

The possibilities are ENDLESS with these fun designs!  Use as few or as many Dew Drops as you like to create a one of a kind mixed media masterpiece!

How to Create Perfect Highlights with Dew Drops

Special moments and perfect pictures.  Sometimes you do not need a lot of product to create a meaningful and beautiful scrapbook page.

But you do want that “oomph” to make your page pop! And that’s when you reach for Dew Drops!

My niece recently got engaged, and I am documenting the road to her wedding day! This layout features her “Save the Date” card and a few engagement photo “out takes” I swiped off Facebook and made into a collage.

I am using the Poinsettia Dew Drop Mix and the Rhapsody Collection from Photo Play for this layout.

Dew Drops add dimension and sparkle to this layout

Design Notes:  machine stitching and the name tag (Beyoutiful) from the patterned paper are fun touches!
